- 32-bit edition/64-bit edition: Indicates the supported architecture of the product. When this term is omitted in the offering name, 32-bit is assumed. Note: The 2007 Microsoft Office system programs client is a 32-bit application and can run on a Windows 64-bit platform (Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista) but there may be some feature limitations as noted in the system requirements as posted on Microsoft web site.

Visual Reports require Microsoft Office Excel 2003 SP2 or later and Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007.
- Project Professional and Project Server 2007 are required for enterprise project and resource management capabilities. Microsoft Office Project Web Access and Outlook 2003 SP2 or later required for importing tasks to the Outlook calendar or tasks list.
- Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (installed as part of Microsoft Office Project Server 2007) is required for publishing projects, Windows Workflow Foundation, and Project Tasks List. Microsoft.Net Framework Version 2.0 is required for the Resource Substitution Wizard.
